“FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Mayor Tom Arceneaux is requesting the community to pause together on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in observance of the National Day of Prayer.
At 3:00 p.m., the mayor will ring a bell and pray for the City of Shreveport outside the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium. He is encouraging residents across the city to join in that moment—through prayer, reflection, or by ringing a bell wherever they are.
Churches, first responders, businesses, and individuals are invited to take part in this simple, unified act to honor lives lost, support those who are grieving, and stand together in hope for the future of our community.
“This is a time for our city to come together,” said Mayor Arceneaux. “Many in our community are carrying grief and hardship. On May 7th, we pause as one city—to pray for healing, for strength, and for one another.”
Mayor Arceneaux has also officially proclaimed May 7, 2026, as a Day of Prayer in the City of Shreveport, calling on citizens to unite in prayer for the city’s leaders, first responders, families, and neighborhoods.
Residents are encouraged to participate in whatever way is meaningful to them, including pausing for a moment of prayer or reflection at 3:00 p.m.”
