“Asian Gardens Martial Arts Event

Join us for an afternoon celebrating martial arts, visual art, community, and the fighting spirit they share.

Presented by Tap Cancer Out SBC, with the support of Shreveport Commons, Inc., this one-of-a-kind event is about honoring the martial arts and the visual arts they inspire.

Come out and enjoy martial arts demonstrations, local artists, music, a food truck, prizes and giveaways, Tap Cancer Out merchandise, and a special live art performance by Diego Carrizales, aka Pensive.Penz. Security and a portable restroom will also be available on site.

Most importantly, this event supports a cause that is deeply personal to me. Proceeds and donations will go directly toward supporting Tap Cancer Out, a Jiu-Jitsu nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by cancer.

This event is held in memory of my mom, who fought cancer and ultimately succumbed to the illness. Her strength and fighting spirit continue to inspire me and help keep this mission alive, not only in remembrance of those we have lost, but in support of everyone still in the fight today.

When our community unites, hope hits harder than cancer ever could.

Come enjoy an afternoon filled with action, art, community, and love while helping us fight for something bigger than ourselves.

Martial Arts Demonstrations
Local Art + Live Art Performance
Music
Food Truck
Prizes, Giveaways & TCO Merch
Supporting those in the fight of their lives.

And this isn’t where we finish.

Save the date for the 7th Annual Tap Cancer Out SBC Global Grappling Day: December 12.

We’ll close out the year with our one-hour grappling challenge, bringing grapplers together from across the Shreveport-Bossier area in support of the same mission. All local grapplers are invited, but spots are limited, so reach out if you’d like to participate.

Come celebrate with us in October, then join us again in December as we finish the year strong, together.

In memory of those we’ve lost. In honor of every fighter still in the struggle.”

“God Bless Us, Everyone!

The true spirit of Christmas lives in this heartwarming production of Charles Dicken’s holiday classic. Audiences, young and old, will leave the theater enchanted by this timeless tale of the miraculous redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge. Guided by the ghosts of Jacob Marley, and Christmas Past, Present and Future, the world’s most famous miser undergoes a magical, stirring transformation into a marvelous man of overflowing love, kindness and generosity.

CMI Entertainment, in collaboration with Entertainment Central Productions Orlando, is proud to present this beloved story in a version that will move every theatergoer with the wonder of its stirring message of goodwill and holiday hope.

Our National Tour features a faithful, fun-filled homage to Dicken’s original vision. Brilliantly illuminated projections bathe the period- evocative set pieces with the misty, cobblestoned atmosphere of old London town. Beautifully sung choral arrangements of everyone’s best-loved Christmas carols are woven through the two hours of this joyous theatrical journey. The heartfelt acting talent of a nationally selected cast (draped in dazzlingly gorgeous costumes) will bring characters like Mister Fezziwig, Bob Cratchit and Tiny Tim to life in charming, memorable performances. Other- worldly light and sound effects, along with eerie, larger-than-life puppets accentuate this dreamlike, haunting ghost story.

A Christmas Carol was Charles Dicken’s gift to a weary world that had almost forgotten the values of goodness and sharing. More than a play, this presentation reminds family members (children, parents and grandparents) that there is a special time of every year when people embrace the belief that it is better to give than to receive and that kindness is contagious.

The fantastic Christmas Eve of Ebenezer Scrooge is a rollicking roller coaster ride of emotions. Often hilarious, sometimes spooky, you will witness the thrilling conversion of a humbug into a hugger! This crowd-pleasing show embodies the best of the holiday spirit and will bring laughter, a few tears, but mostly joy to all who partake in its warm glow. We say, “Long live Christmas!”

“The cast and crew from A Christmas Carol were amazing to work with … the performance was top notch: talented actors, detailed sets, traditional era costumes. The cast incorporated a local kids’ choir and the community loved it! This is a spectacular show that delivers a classical, heart-warming tale that put the audience in the holiday spirit.”

— Amanda Horton, Reynolds Performance Hall, UCA

“I have never seen a better performance than the one put on by you and your talented crew. I hope you get to share this with many more audiences.”

— Mike Staggs, Shreveport, LA.

“The best ever, a new twist on an old classic … Our biggest show and the best crew ever!”

—The Villages, Florida

“The show was spectacular! Acting was incredible, and the sound was perfectly balanced … moving the production with perfect motion. Well- delivered show and a solid production.”

— Chad Armel, Greensburg Happenings

“Kudos on a FINE production!”

— Westmorland Cultural Trust, Greensburg, PA
