MISSION

Shreveport Common, Inc. (SCI) was formed to implement the Creative Placemaking revitalization of a long-blighted 9-block area to the promise of the Shreveport Common Vision Plan for an UNcommon, creative cultural community. SCI works with public/private partners to remove obstacles, create partnerships and fill gaps motivating redevelopment based on these community's tenets: Authenticity, Creativity, Sustainability and for ALL in our Community with no displacement of the current neighbors.

Your Donation In Action

“From Blight to Bright," your donation to Shreveport Common, Inc. helps us continue to advance the redevelopment of this important urban area. So much has been done already, but there is still much to do to. Together we will create an UNcommon Community where all are welcome to live, work play!

Together We Can:

Save complicated properties - Acquire complex properties through donation and/or acquisition to package for redevelopment.
Environmental Clean Up - Partner with Louisiana Dept. of Environmental Quality (LADEQ) on assessments and remediations
Build Partnerships - Attract and connect property owners, developers, business owners/entrepreneurs, artists and residents to save buildings, fill spaces and populate the area
Provide redevelopment resources such as grant writing, and grant writing assistance, research studies, aide development as needed
Market the area, the opportunities, and events to build visitors, attendance, business and occupancy
