“LES MISÉRABLES AUDITIONS: SAVE THE DATE!

First-round auditions for the Emmett Hook Center’s July 2027 production of Les Misérables will be held:

Friday, November 20 — beginning at 6:30 PM
Saturday, November 21 — beginning at 10:00 AM

Audition appointments will be REQUIRED. Online sign-ups will open October 20 at noon.

All performers, including those auditioning for principal roles, ensemble, and children's roles, will audition during this first round. No roles are pre-cast.

Video auditions ARE accepted. More information on these coming soon.

ROUND ONE — GENERAL AUDITIONS
Friday, November 20: starting at 6:30pm
Saturday, November 21: starting 10am

PRINCIPAL & FEATURED ROLES
Those wishing to be considered for a principal or featured role must prepare both a song AND a monologue.

SONG: Prepare 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please DO NOT sing a selection from Les Misérables. Bring sheet music in the correct key, in a binder, double sided with holes punched. An accompanist will be provided.

MONOLOGUE: Prepare a 20-40 second memorized monologue from a 20th- or 21st-century play or musical. The monologue must be memorized.

Principal and featured roles include:
Jean Valjean • Javert • Fantine • Thénardier • Madame Thénardier • Cosette • Marius • Enjolras • Éponine • Grantaire • Bishop of Digne

ENSEMBLE
Those wishing to be considered only for the ensemble should prepare 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please DO NOT sing a selection from Les Misérables.

Bring sheet music in the correct key, in a binder, double sided with holes punched. An accompanist will be provided.

No monologue is required for ensemble-only auditions.

CHILDREN'S ROLES

Children's roles include Gavroche, Young Cosette, and Young Éponine.

Children will audition during the regular first-round auditions alongside the rest of the company. They should prepare 16–32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please DO NOT sing a selection from Les Misérables.

Bring sheet music in the correct key, in a binder, double sided with holes punched. An accompanist will be provided.

No monologue is required for children's roles during the first round.

ROUND TWO — CALLBACKS
January 8 & 9 times TBD

Selected performers will be invited to callbacks, with particular focus on principal and featured roles. Callback materials and specific requirements will be provided in advance.

We expect auditionees to follow the stated song length, repertoire, accompaniment, and monologue requirements exactly.”
