Uneeda Biscuit Artist Lofts

When it was built in 1902, the Vordenbauman Eastham Building—known locally as the Uneeda Biscuit Building due to a mural on its side—was the tallest privately owned structure in Shreveport. Over the years, it has served many purposes, including a hardware store, a National Guard armory, a furniture store, and an art gallery. After sitting vacant for many years and suffering tremendous structural damage due to neglect, the building has been restored beautifully as mixed-income housing with a leasing preference for artists. The Uneeda Biscuit Artist Lofts welcomed its first tenants in August 2023.
